Design:

The Razer Seiren Elite PC Microphone has a minimalist and attractive design. It has a black cylindrical shape, is made of highly durable aluminum, and comes with one of the best bases on the market.

The microphone stand allows you to align the capsule to the desired angle for the best possible sound quality. The Razer Seiren Elite uses a  dynamic capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. It has a frequency response of 50Hz-20kHz and records at 44.1 kHz or 48kHz at 16 bits.

This PC microphone integrates a button for the mute function (it lights red when it is silent and green when it is ready to record) and two potentiometers to control the headphones’ volume and the gain of the microphone. Unfortunately, these controls are the only thing that looks cheap on the mic.

Sound:

The only negative we noticed is that it is somewhat noisy, although you may attenuate this annoying effect by lowering the gain.

Once the desired gain level is set, the Razer Seiren Elite PC Microphone produces a very clean and clear signal, both in normal mode and with the high-pass filter activated. When recording vocals, the difference between the two modes is only noticeable in the lowest vowels. The filter can cut off some richness from the lower frequencies if the vocalist gets too close to the dynamic microphone, but moving far enough away only removes unwanted ambient noise.

Connectivity:

The Razer Seiren Elite comes with a three-meter USB cable that connects to a USB port on the bottom of the microphone. It also integrates a  headphone jack that offers zero latency for monitoring and a high-pass filter. The built-in high-pass filter is one feature that makes the Razer Seiren Elite a professional studio microphone. This helps to eliminate some negative effects when we use it to record very close voices, but mainly it serves to eliminate low-frequency ambient noise.

The Razer Seiren Elite PC Microphone comes with a windscreen that fully covers the dynamic microphone grille. As a result, it works great outdoors and also helps prevent some negative effects when recording vocals. In terms of compatibility, the Razer Seiren Elite PC Microphone works with Mac OS 10.8 or higher operating systems, as well as Windows 7, 8, or 10.

Design:

The QuadCast is a PC microphone specially designed for gamers to broadcast live with excellent audio quality. In addition, it is very versatile. It has three diaphragms (very rare) and four polar patterns: cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional, and stereo.  We don’t really know what the stereo pattern looks like, but it is very close to bidirectional.

Sound:

The cardioid pattern is the most necessary and works wonders – it captures voices in great detail and reduces ambient noise beautifully. Additionally, the bi-directional and Omnidirectional patterns are perfect for capturing two voices in a podcast or the sound of multiple people in a room.

It works with maximum sample rates and bit depth of 48kHz / 16-bits (the quality of a CD). They are not the highest resolutions, but they are perfect for recording broadcasts or podcasts. This PC microphone works with a wide frequency response of 20-20kHz. It is not a HiFi system as it only has a USB port, but it offers great performance for its price.

Connectivity:

The HyperX QuadCast comes with a shock mount anti-vibration mount and integrates a pretty decent pop filter. It has a  headphone jack that allows you to monitor the sound and control to manage the gain. It also has an LED light that indicates the phone’s status and controls to mute the microphone and change the polar pattern. This PC microphone is certified by Discord and TeamSpeak and is perfect for gamers.

The HyperX QuadCast is one of the best PC gaming microphones that we have tested. It is beautifully designed with four polar patterns and captures voices with great detail and remarkable clarity.
